Expert Answers about Truck Bed Mats

  • Will the Truck Bed Rust When Using the DeeZee Heavyweight Truck Bed Matt on a 1999 Ford Super Duty
  • The DeeZee Heavyweight Truck Bed Mat, # DZ86881, may help protect the bed from moisture in some instances, but it was not designed to protect the bed from rust. Moisture can still build up in the channels under the bed mat. It is important that the bed is cleaned occasionally under the mat because moisture that is trapped under the bed mat will not evaporate easily and will build up in certain areas. The main purpose for the bed mat is to keep items from sliding around the truck bed and...

  • Can the B&W Companion Hitch Be Installed Over Truck Bed Mat
  • You will want to remove the rubber mat when you are towing. In the instructions for the Companion Hitch, B&W states that if the truck bed has a removable bed liner or mat, it should be removed or cut to allow the base of the hitch to have direct contact with the bed. If you do not want to remove the rubber mat when using the Companion, you can also cut the mat to allow the hitch to have direct contact with the truck bed. I have linked the instructions for the Companion # BWRVK3500 for you.

  • Rubber Truck Bed Mat for 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty
  • We do offer bed mats for the 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty with 6-3/4-foot bed. All are shown on the linked page. These are intended for trucks without the factory step gate. We have both bed and tailgate mats. If you have any type of 5th wheel hitch in the bed you will need to trim out the mat to fit around that installation since hitches cannot rest on top of the mat. They require direct metal-on-metal contact for safe operation.

  • Do I Need Tape Holding the DeeZee Truck Bed Mat Down or Will it Stay Put
  • The DeeZee Custom-Fit Truck Bed Mat part # DZ86917 is very good about staying in the bed of the truck with no additional help. It is a 3/8" thick mat that's quite heavy and there are no issues with it catching air and flying out. You can certainly use some double sided tape if you want but generally it is not required. The other mats that you see including the tape are very light weight and generally do need the tape to stay in.

  • How Can I Keep BedRug Custom Truck Bed Mat Secure In My Truck Bed
  • I have read many reviews of the BedRug Custom Truck Bed Mat - Bed Floor Cover for Trucks with Drop-In Liners, part # BMN05CCD. Most of the reviews were good, but most of the people who owned this truck bed mat used additional means of securing, not just the plastic screw in studs. If you do purchase this item I suggest using a secondary adhesive to help secure it to your truck bed. Velcro seems to be preferred method. I have included the product description link below.

  • Would the DeeZee Truck Mat # DZ86928 Blow Out on the Highway
  • What keeps this DeeZee Heavyweight, Custom-Fit Truck Bed Mat # DZ86928 from blowing out is the weight of the mat combined with the fact that there is no portion of the mat that wind can get underneath. My parents had a mat very similar to this in one of their trucks and it never once acted like it would blow out on the highway. Unless you wanted to bolt it to the floor of your truck bed there is nothing that physically attaches it to your truck bed to prevent theft. These things are typically...

  • Is Drilling Required for Access Custom Truck Bed Mat on 2023 Nissan Frontier
  • In regards to the Access Custom Truck Bed Mat part # A45BG which is a fit for a 2023 Nissan Frontier, you do indeed need to drill per the instructions. The drilling is done with a 7/64" drill bit and only into the first layer of the truck bed. You'll then use some screws to secure the snaps to the bed but the screws are only designed to go through the first layer of the truck bed so they won't cause any damage to stuff underneath.

  • Can B&W BWRVK2506 Bed Rails Be Mounted Atop A Truck Bed Mat
  • To use the B&W # BWRVK3270 Patriot, the mat would either need to be removed or you can cut holes in the mat for the bed rails. The bed rails absolutely need to have direct contact with the bed floor. If the mat was sandwiched in between the rails and the bed, over time the mat would break down, causing the rails to loosen which would be really bad. The # BWRVK2506 B&W 5th wheel frame bracket/bed rail kit is confirmed to fit your truck. If you'd like to install a 7-way trailer connector...

  • The BedRug Custom Truck Bed Mat - Bed Floor Cover for Trucks with Bare Beds or Spray-In Liners # BMH17RBS that we carry does not require drilling or or push-in fasteners because it is only for bare truck beds or those with spray-on liners and will not fit trucks with existing drop-in liners. This truck bed mat will utilize the included Velcro strips and adhesive to mount to the bed...

  • Will Removing BedRug for 2021 GMC Sierra 3500 With 8 Foot Bed Weaken Velcro
  • Installing and removing the BedRug Custom Truck Bed Mat # BR94FR repeatedly may result in less "stickiness" as it is really designed to be installed and then remain inside the truck bed of your 2021 GMC Sierra 3500, so I do recommend leaving it in after installation. The fasteners are going to stick to the truck bed extremely well provided you follow the instructions when installing it in regards to making sure your bed is clean so it has a smooth surface to stick to. I have added a link...

  • Installing DeeZee Truck Bed Mat
  • First off make sure you have the correct bed mat for your truck. The DeeZee mats are custom designed and part # DZ86985 is specifically for the 5-1/2 foot bed Toyota Tundra from 2007 to 2019. If you have the correct mat for your truck you should roll the mat out and put some weight on the edges of it for a bit to get it to sit flat. At first it's going to want to roll back up since it was rolled for shipping. Leaving it in the sun, like your son-in-law suggested, could help too but...

  • Can the UWS Truck Bed Chest Be Mounted On a Bed Rug/Mat
  • The UWS Truck Bed Chest part # UWS01040 would work best when in direct contact with the truck bed. If there was any sort of bed rug or mat used I recommend trimming this so the base of the toolbox sits against the bed floor. This will best ensure there is little to no movement. That said, you can certainly try to mount it atop a bed rug or mat to see if it says in place, there really aren't any strict rules for installation.

  • Will 2023 Toyota Tacoma WeatherTech Truck Bed Mat Sit Flat in Truck Bed
  • Westin Custom Fit Truck Bed Mat # 50-6215 will lay completely flat in the 6' bed of your 2023 Toyota Tacoma. These ship rolled up so once you receive it you'll want to lay it out flat and put some heavy objects on the ends until that "flipped up" part is sitting flat. If you're able to do this in a warm area or even set it out in the sun during this time it will help make the process faster.

  • Will Bed Mat Interfere with Installation of the Bed Extender in a 2011 Dodge Ram Laramie
  • The rubber bed and tailgate mat in your 2011 Dodge Ram Laramie will not prohibit the installation of the Topline Bed Extender, item # BX4004-02, on your pickup, but you may need to trim the bed mat for installation. Trimming is a decision that will have to be made at the time of installation, since we have not had the opportunity to install this item on a truck with a rubber bed mat yet.

  • Does WeatherTeach TechLiner Bed Mat for 2013 Ford Super Duty have Cut Outs for Factory Prep Package
  • The puck areas for the underbed mounting system on your truck are visible on the WeatherTech Techliner, # WT39601. But they are not round, they are square and you can see them on the mat. The area that needs to be trimmed away has to be larger than the diameter of the pucks because you also have to account for the hitch legs and access to the levers used to secure the hitch in the pucks. I recommend drilling a hole in the center of the areas that need to be cut out and then using aviator...
